FAQs

What is CBT?

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is an evidence based form of psychotherapy that focuses on the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. It aims to help individuals identify and change negative patterns of thinking and behaviour that may contribute to their emotional distress or mental health issues. CBT is based on the idea that our thoughts and interpretations of events influence our emotions and behaviours. By challenging and modifying these thoughts, CBT can help individuals develop healthier coping strategies and improve their overall well-being. It is commonly used to treat a wide range of mental health conditions, such as anxiety disorders, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and many more.

What is the fee for therapy?

Individual CBT therapy online/remotely costs £60 per session.

Individual CBT therapy face-to-face on location costs £75 (as we need to factor in room hire)

How many sessions will I need?

The number of sessions depends on individual circumstances and complexity of issues. CBT usually lasts between 6 to 26 sessions when dealing with anxiety and depression. Some clients may just want to understand their difficulties and may decide that 5-6 sessions are enough, whereas others with complex needs may want to proceed with more sessions to make changes and address other issues too.

How often will I see you?

It is usual for sessions to be held weekly at first, as this allows for the work to move along at a good pace. Later on in therapy we may decide to meet less frequent (for example fortnightly etc).

How will I know you are the right therapist for me? Can I speak to you first before deciding whether I would like to go ahead with therapy?

Finding a therapist you can relate to and work with is very important for getting as much out of therapy as possible. If you would like to find out if we can be a good match, I offer a free 15-minute discovery call.
